Wahooo. I did it I won NaNo09

Wahoooo, I did it I won NaNo09 I hit 50k yesterday.

Why do I still have the widget I hear you ask. It is because I aim to carry on til the end of the month. Not at the speed I have been, because I have other projects that now need my attention, but you will be able to still see my progress if you wish to. It has been an amazing experience this year so far. Last year I did not think I could do this at all, and here I am again having finished four days earlier than last year. I suprised myself again. The real work begins in January. I will continue to update weekly until the end of NaNo09.

Support and the wrimotrack.

I could not have done it without people's support, offers of coffee and having plates of food out in front of me when I have forgotten to eat. I have had some lovely encouraging comments on facebook that cheered me up and kept me going daily. Thank you so much guys, you know who you are. If you are reading this. Thank you so much!!
Good music has also helped me on my path to the 50k mark. I don't want to keep repeating myself here so just check my previous post. Needless to say I have been continuing to play Laruku, and every time I do the words flow. As well as this a calming effect also ensues which helps with production. It was definitely a bold move to find out more about a Japanese band, especially for me since two years ago I would not even watch a subtitled movie let alone cartoons, but I am sooooo glad I did, they are brilliant, extremely talented people. Don't take my word for it check them out for yourselves and I hope you see what I mean ^_^

More next week ^_^

NaNo Updaties

This week has been an interesting week. Mainly because I have been trying to juggle University work with the challenge of this years NaNoWriMo. It has been rather fun though. I have been very tired, but I still want to write everyday, so I must be doing alright.

Yays 27k. Hoping to finish early again this year, but we will have to see. The story is progressing well. I know for a fact that some parts of the story are going to be summarily edited out on the account they are long winded, or just don't work toward the plot, but at least I have something to edit! I have written two chapters I did not originally plan, and one event that I did not plan has come up and suprised me. Goodness I love NaNo. I think I am going to write all my novels in November haha. The widget updates automatically, so if I forget to updat you can still know my progress. Woot!!

WriMoTrack.

So now on to the music that has inspired me this week to write lots and lots. Last year I think I just listened to final fantasy radio alot! I did begin with that this year, which I think lasted about 2 hours, when I finished the first chapter and was moving on to a new character, I knew I would want something rocky, something I could turn the volume up on and get lost in as I wrote. Thus I turned to my favourite Japanese band L'Arc~en~Ciel. I recently got some of their music on amazon on import, and they have proven to be my writing companions these past eight days. Every time I write one of their songs is blaring in the background. Even when I am feeling like my writing is rubbish, and I need to stop and take a break, they are still on in the background, and I always come back to my desk. They are awesome. Here is one off the album Kiss (which I picked up on Amazon!) Others may recognise this as the first theme for Gundam 00

I think that is all for now. More this time next week. (or sooner if I can) To all the wrimo's still writing. I hope week 2 goes well for you ^_^

Here I go again.

It's October 31st, and we all know what that means. That means that from tomorrow I will be doing NaNoWriMo huzzah!

I have 16 chapters planned and 6 outlined. Main characters have been outlined and I have a fair idea of what their world looks like. I am also going for a setting that I have never tried before, so it could be exciting, it could be a disaster before I hit 20k, who knows. Hopefully though, like last year, I will reach the 50k target.

If you follow mw on twitter, I will be trying to update daily, or every other day. On facebook I am going to try and do the same thing. If you are on deviantart I will be updating my journal every week, but may update the word count twice a week if I have time.

I may post up some songs that have inspired me during Nano too, I wonder what my wrimotrack will end up like?

I am going to do the same here as deviant art, so there may be some cross posting.

So here I go again into the crazy world of NaNo land. It's going to be fun, if your doing NaNo this year then I am sure I will see you about. Best of luck to you all!!

Kindness, Passion, and Moseley Shoals

I really wanted to find something to blog about today and now I have three!! Woot!

Kindness:

So we are in Sainsbury's doing the week shop. I find a beautiful Hello Kitty purse to replace the one that broke. (Yes, I wrote Hello Kitty, you didn't miss read!) Dan goes round the store with James and I scour the gift section for Christmas bargains. (Yes, I know it's October.) I found some good bargains for James, an Etch a Sketch and some Wall E toys. I met Dan at check out and hid presents, then we went outside and summarily watched a bottle of mulled wine fall out of the bag and smash on the floor.

FAIL!!

However, there was a lovely Sainsbury's worker who saw what happened and took Dan back in the store to get another bottle. Now, had that been elsewhere I am sure that we would not have gotten a replacement. However, this gentleman was so great about it, he did not even seem annoyed at our mistake.

Thank you Sainsbury's, we now have some wine to put down for Christmas ^_^

Passion:

We have been watching Strictly Come Dancing lately. It is quite a good show to watch. We find the judges the most entertaining though. So much so we have devised something of a game out of it.

One of the judges, Bruno, likes to sat passion alot....really. He gets up when he is judging too, and since we generally watch strictly over wine, we have a sip every time Bruno says passion or stands up haha.

Its a little bit of Saturday night fun!

Moseley Shoals.

Now song of the week!! This week myself and Dan have been remembering our musical childhood. I was a little britpop fangirl and Blur could do no wrong! However there is one band that for us brings back the fondest memories of when British music was fab! So we salute you Ocean Colour Scene, you never age, and we still love you. Song of the week belongs to you!!

Progress Wooo ^_^

I thought that I would update this lil ol' thing before I shut down the computer for the night.

I am glad, mainly because today has been quite productive, and I am hoping for the same tomorrow.
Very recently, I have started getting up at 6am. Mainly so that I can get a proper eight hour day on my dissertation, and I have plenty of time for writing and planning Nano09 guilt free with time to spare for reading or playing video games.

It has been going rather well so far. I am glad that I have started it, because through it I have discovered the best cereal in the world: Jordan's Country Crisp. I am not a cereal person, but I am really loving it, and it is a brilliant start to the day. Funnily enough, I am also eating more, but also more inclined toward fruit as well. I am also not overly tired on only seven hours sleep. So far so good!

I have read much more of late, I have gone through five or six novels and six comics (GN) if not more in the last couple of weeks. I have also begun a new game while I save up for the potentially great Final Fantasy Dissidia. Its another Final Fantasy, but one I have been afraid to try before. Tactics. It takes longer to do the fights and you have to think a lot more, which is not necessarily a good thing after a 10h day, but so far I am enjoying it. Tonight I may play Crisis Core. The last episode of Star Trek: Voyager is on, and I have never seen it before. I have been told its brilliant...we will see.

Progress on Dissertation: beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel that is Ch2 so very pleased. Do have some research to do, but hopefully will be sent to supervisor next week, while I draft Ch3.

New Words: 1.167 new words today, not great, but my 2000 pageview story which I am doing for my watchers at Deviant Art is taking shape. Editing for another short story is complete. (for now) and my post for the USS Echo PbEM is being edited now, and I hope to post that up soon. I know its a bit of fun for indulgent writing, but I still don't want what I am writing to be rubbish.

Nanowrimo: Have planned 3 chapters, but still not sure if I have time to write it for Nano09 yet. If anything I have a novel plan if I decide to write it in November or any other time. I thought I would still plan it just in case I have the time. It would be good if I did, especially since I did well last year.

Song of the week.

Oh dear: I have not done one of these for a while. Thought I would post up a song by my favourite Japanese band. I discovered them because they three fantastic songs for Fullmetal Alchemist. This song wins because it has a kick ass bass. I like the bass guitar, some of my favourite songs have definitive bass lines.

Artist: L'Arc~en~Ciel

Song: Finale

Album: Real

I think that is all for now,

Until Next Time ^_^

Song of the Week and some Random Thoughts

I realise that for the last few posts I have only been posting favourite songs that have inspired me while I have been writing, and there is one this week too. Although this time it is more a favourite AMV (Anime Music Video) from a couple of years ago, when I first started playing Final Fantasy IX. (There are spoilers, You have been warned)

The reason for the songs is two fold. Firstly I did not want people to think that I had fallen off the map, and thus by updating you all know I am alive ^_^ Linked with this is the experiment of seeing what kinds of songs I had been listening to during my writing day, thus creating the 'Writers Soundtrack.' for myself at least. I wonder what will follow in the coming weeks.

It has been interesting so far, most of the tracks have been anime or computer game related so far. I have been listening to different kinds of music this week though, so I wonder what will come up as the winner? I guess you will find out next week.

I have also recently taken a bit of a holiday, and have only now really gotten back into a proper routine. There will be a holiday post in the next couple of days, but I wrote some of the post as the holiday progressed and I still have some details to add from the last week and a half as well.

So anyway, here it is. My song of the week. I hope you enjoy, it is a lovely song.

Artist: Dana Glover
Title: It is You (was also in the first Shrek film, but this video is to FFIX)
